In search of great art? If you live in Miami or are planning to vacation here, you’re in luck. Our team recently spent an afternoon at the RUBELL MUSEUM, located in Miami’s Allapattah neighborhood, and we were absolutely inspired by the visit. But if you can’t get to Miami, we’ve got you covered. Read on to discover why we love this neighborhood treasure.

The museum, founded by Meera and Don Rubell, boasts 100,000 square feet (yes, you read that right) of gallery space that’s teeming with works from artists Nina Chanel Abney, Isa Genzken, Felix Gonzales Torres, Barbara Kruger, Kerry James Marshall, Oscar Murillo, Mary Weatherford, Lisa Yuskavage, and many more.

Wander the 40 galleries between now and December 12th to catch some incredible exhibitions, including Sanctuary by Genesis Tramaine. The works were completed during her six weeks as the museum’s artist-in-residence.

Feeling selfie-ish? Flatter your inner Narcissus in Yayoi Kusama’s Narcissus Garden. The immersive installation provides 700 stainless steel spheres that allow you to be dazzled by your own reflection without all that mythological drama.

We couldn’t leave the museum without visiting LEKU, the museum’s indoor and al fresco dining option. Helmed by Executive Chef Mikel Goikolea and featuring Chef de Cuisine Aitor Garate Berasaluze and Sous Chef Esteban Martinez Lamas, the restaurant provides not only a delicious Basque-inspired menu (just go ahead and say yes to the Ensaladilla Rusa con Carpaccio de Gamba + Salicornia) but an aesthetically pleasing and not-to-be-missed gathering space.
